Tarquin,
I am not opposed to having plans on my site as long as it doesn't constitute copyright infringement. I thought about posting the ones I have found, but was concerned about which ones are free to distribute and which ones aren't. I have no way to confirm this and just because they are on RCU doesn't mean they are free. I'm not accusing anyone of any wrong-doing. I am just trying to protect myself and practice due-diligence. I looked at the information in the following link and saw some interesting information.
Works published from 1923 through 1977 without a copyright notice are in the public domain. Works from 1978 to 1 March 1989, published without notice, and without subsequent registration within 5 years are in the public domain.
I would not have a problem posting any plans that meet these conditions. I suppose I could include a disclaimer or simply link to the threads on RCU that contain the plans. The latter might be the best option right now.
Now, the question is where; in the description near the image of the plane or on its own page? Hmmmmm.
