Alright,
so it's been almost two weeks since I posted any progress. Between being distracted by other things, working on other projects and planning future ones, I haven't gotten much done... until a couple of nights ago. Before getting to that though, some other grin conducing news:
Guess what just showed at up at my door step?
Despite being NIB, at first it was kind of frozen. A little cleaning and degreasing (inside and out) brought it right back to life! It now turns smoothly and has serious compression. It looks like it must have been sitting on someone's shelf for 10-20 years unopened. It still had threading debris in the glow plug socket!
On another note, I picked up a couple of MK soft mounts for a YS 61. Interestingly, both the 45 and the 61 have the same bolt separation on the flanges. So..., with that said, I now seriously think that this puppy will be going into another beautiful aircraft which I picked up by a stroke of luck while I was actually swimming!
So the Tsunami is back to being pulled by either the ST 40 or the OS 46. Actually, as finished, I can't even get the YS in the nose so I would have to do some more carving and repaint - not really in the mood! (Well, I could remove the drive washer

.)
But more on the Tsunami - coming soon...
David.
P.S. BTW, don't worry about that spinner... it's only used for fitting purposes (I wouldn't use it as I'm sure it's rather unbalanced).
