I fly TD sailplanes, e-gliders, slope gliders, DL gliders, and parkflyer electrics. I will go through the mixes I used on my full house gliders using my Futaba 9C. There are more that can be done and more options but this is a quick glance. I have since upgraded to the 9C Super, but most of this still applies. Teh % will be different for every plane, so just take these s starting point examples. My Legend gets different % then my Supra or my Thermal Dancer.
This assumes the plane has 6 servos, 4 in the wing, each on its own channel using Glider-Flap2 setting. There is a picture in the sailplane section of the manual that shows the proper channel sequence for the wing. I believe, going left to right it is 7,6,5,1 for the servos. Elevator on 2 and rudder on 4.
Here is my set-up for the full house on my 9C:
Aileron Differential - up 100%, down 50% ( this also enables two aileron servos )
Aileron-flap so that flaps follow - on switch - flaps move about 15% up and down. I use this mostly in windy conditions for extra roll authority.
Aileron-Rudder mix - rudder about 25% - on switch so I can turn it on or off.
On the 3 position switch - over left hand on the H version of the radio or over the right hand on the A version
Launch setting - Switch toward me
Droop flaps 20%
Droop ailerons 20%
Cruise ( normal ) Flight setting - - switch centered all surfaces at neutral
Speed setting - - switch away from me -
use this for zoom off winch and when running from sink Ailerons and flaps up 6% -
Flap-elevator compensation -
Landing control operated from left slider - active all the time.
Flap at about 80 degrees with about 20% down elevator
Crow/butterfly - controlled from stick - activate from switch A ( can't be active all the time on 9C - can on Super )
Flap at about 75 degrees,
ailerons up 25% and
about 10% down elevator
Tripple rates: High setting - all surfaces 100% with no expo
Mid setting
Ailerons - 30% expo
Elevator- 40% expo
Rudder - 20% expo
Low rate
ailerons - 50% expo
Elevator- 60% expo
Rudder - 20% expo
Timer set on switch - initaties up and dow timers - On the A class, I use the front top swich.
You don't need all of this.
As a strating point I would suggest:
Aileron diff - on all the time
Aileron - Rudder - I like this on a switch
Flap-elevator for landing - on all the time - I put this on left slider
Launch setting - on top tripple switch - toward me
Reflex setting - On top tropple switch - away
Dual/tripple rates/expo As you like it
Do these, then add others as time goes on.
