Default RE: 1/4 Scale F4U-1A Don Smith Plans Build

Josh and Dan,

Thank you for the kind words. As far a glue joints I just keep a box of 100 epoxy brushes on hand and after gluing I brush off the extra glue. Then if I feel picky I get the brush wet with warm water and go over it again. You will be surprised how many brushes you will go through. Everything was a challenge on this thing. Just remember thats what Evercoat putty and Z-Poxy with microballons are for. The wing saddle went in but it was a bear. I had to cut the notches in one side of the formers deeper or something like that. Just keep going and always think 3 to 4 steps ahead. Don't build yourself into a corner. Plan and Plan somemore. I have made so many do overs I could of built 2 of these by now if the plans had only been right. At least I'm on the right track with the retracts now.

Good luck Josh and yours will probably come out nicer than mine,

Barry
