ByLoudDesign: KISS is what will make this project work at under 55 pounds. My B-29 was a KISS type project except I used someone elses plans and it called for cutting the bottom spar then using a inverted U shape to tie the spar together, if the U spape fail then your spar failed. In testing it failed. No I use my design skills to do it my self. It might not be perfect, but good engineering and using what you know already works is KEEPING IT SUPER SIMPLE (KISS).
qldviking: Thanks I found another referance on the web to it being hard to make sure you got is attached if using big sheets, and thats what I think you would need to do since it would be very difficult to join the edges.
Rock ON all, DAG
This was sent to another blog I have this project on. The finish looks great. This guy was responding to someone that felt that film would never look good.
Dag:
Not so.
There's a guy posting his DC-9 in the Electric jets forum. I've been watching it for a number of years now and his project is just stunning.
He has just recently started the covering.
He is using film and it looks just fine
A couple of Nose shots the wing tail and an over-all shot of the airplane C/G checking
Check it out he's been using iron on covering on his DC-9. It's better than I could ever do. It's proof that you don't need to add 5 lbs of fiber-glass and paint to have a good looking model.
