I agree with the post above, leave the cowl off until the engine is broke in. Ever try to adjust the low end needle screw on a plane with a cowl? What a pain.
I have not flown my UCD 46 yet, but The cowl and air flow channel on it and the Kangke Fun 50 are basically the same. On the Fun 50 cowling, I cut a hole big enough to see the carb. This was not just for air flow but also so I would have easy access to see the barrel and put my thumb over it for a good prime on first starts.
OS50SX never overheated on me with that big "shark mouth"air flow/intake hole.
