joe i had a ducted fan jet that would do 200+ also have seen one go 235 thrue a speed trap, the turbin does not lose its thrust in flite like a ducted fan so they are faster,
i don't think you were out of line asking how fast they go i have had both turbin and fan jets and the first thing anyone ask that seen them fly is man how fast will that thing go.. i would tell you in a second how fast mine would go but i realy don't know and most of the guys that fly them don't. they only know what some one else said there's would do, i know that to much speed and it will come apart on ya, thats why the AMA rule.. ther are some youtube crashes about that , i don't know if the AMA would care how fast your jet can go but if it comes apart and hits someone or some thing it beter have been under 200 mph its funny if you ask some one how fast there racecar goes thats the first thing they will tell ya, heck i ask a many of piolet at the full scale airshow the top speed of there jets,, hmmm i wonder if they should have said 199 so AMA wouldn't pull there waiver???
