Hello; I started with a PT 40 and a Saito 45 about 12 years ago, I flew it for ten years, then donated it to my club to be used as a club trainer. It has crashed many times, once spent 6 months in an old cedar tree, and has trained maybe 20 new flyers past the trainer stage. I regard it as one of the best choices I made in planes. Build it just the way the instructions say and you will have a tough reliable trainer.
