Default Flaps and my Dx6I TX

I have another question ( Sorry for so many) I have a Dx6I 7 channel TX and with my p51 having flaps my DX only has a switch for full flaps down or full up, would it be worth 350$ to spend the money at get a TX that has a knob that I can adjust so I can set flaps at around 5 degrees for shorter takeoff distances or should I fly it first with my 6I and go from there? On most landings with a bird like that I would assume you would want the flaps fully down position so the only thing I would not be able to do is adjust them in increments. Is it that big of a deal not having the knob but just having a TX that has flaps fully down or up? Thank you all again.
