As far as I have been able to determine after a lot of research, the US is the only country in the world with a speed limit for turbine jets.
Did your research include Canada ?
I seem to recall that they had some sort of speed limit for turbines up there (but higher than our paltry limit).

Hi Gordon,
Wayne is our Jet Committee chairman for MAAC up here. There was a suggested number brought up a few years ago, but nothing was ever put in place. As such, we just want people to fly safe up here, but there is no speed limit. Sadly for the US guys, coming up here still requires following the AMA guidelines just as us Canadian guys have to follow AMA guidelines in the US, the rules state that the more strict rules apply in either country.
