Did I hear somebody say they used lemmon pledge to clean their cars? I am searching, but can't find it. Was that my imagination? I am interested to hear how people clean their stuff up and avoid as much dirt getting into everything in the first place.

Pledge is great for cleaning the body, making it shine, but it's not good at keeping dirt out of stuff. The best thing you can do is to keep your truck dry and not let dirt accumulate.
An oldschool trick you can try is putting a buggy body under your truck body, attaching to the sides of the chassis using velcro. The buggy body fits tighter and is more form fitting, and will keep more of the dirt that likes to fly in and around a truck body from getting inside the chassis.
