I have a YS63 that has burned @1 gallon of YS20/20 fuel. I use an OS F plug, and an APC 11x8 prop. My problem is idle, from what I've read this engine should idle @ 2000 RPM, the best I can get is 2300, any lower it dies. My max RPM is 11200, which seems good but it smokes alot and it will burn through a 10 oz. tank in 10 min. , what I've read indicates it should last closer to 15 min. but if I try to lean it out any more it won't run. Transition seems good other than smoking it has nice crisp throtlle response. Today when I was at the feild my idle was worse than normal @3000 for a nice steady idle any less and it would slowly drop and end with it stalling. I didn't have any more glow plugs I am going to get some tomorrow, but still the best idle I can get is 2300. Also my field is @ 100 above sea level and is was pretty humid today and 68 F. Does anyone have any comments, this is my first YS engine and I'm tring to learn. Oh yeah valve clearance was .005 so I adjusted to .003 and still no differance. One last thing should I use after run oil? I've been using hobico after run oil, a couple of drops after every use, is this a good idea, or are there better oils to use?
