Default Beginner's 1st: Electric or Gas?

I'm looking into getting started into the hobby, Ive messed with some nitro RC car glow engines before. Just on road, nothing in the air yet

I want to get into the hobby for the ultimate goal of owning and flying a scale Airwolf.

Ive got Real Flight G2 and Ray's manual, so Ive had a bit of a chance to learn. I know I dont know a whole lot, but at least I'm not walking into this completely blind.

Im looking to buy my first heli to step up to actually flying.

Century's Hummingbird comes in a nice packagae including radio, battery and all that, and gyro for $320. I like this kit as its inexpensive and simple to setup, and is basically just going to be used as something quick and easy I can learn to fly with.

Once I get better, I plan on stepping up to a Vario or Century Airwolf scale kit one of these days.

Century's website lists the Hawk SE II as discontinued, but they offer a nice package deal on the Hawk Sport with engine, radio, and gyro for around $600.

If I go with the Hawk Sport, I can probably keep it around and fit it with an Airwolf fuselage later.

What can you guys recommend for me?
