Default RE: Extreme Flight 47" Yak 54 e

ORIGINAL: daveopam

I am using the recommended motor and 3S pack. It will hover about 70% throttle. I think I have to much prop with the 13X8. Have not tried the 13x7 yet. This combo is plenty strong but I only get 5-6 minutes of flight. It only sees full power 5% of the time. the rest is half or less. I really thought I would get better flight times, but this is my first electric. I may be expecting to much.

If it is the 2814/820... you could go as high as a 14x7 on 3s...but watch your amps as that is pushing a 2100 class pack hard (not sure what battery you are using) with the 820 on 3s, a 2500 or 2600mAH pack is better....
If you are running only a 2100 or so battery, that would explain the short flight times....

but.. to really make the 820 come alive in the Yak ....run it on 4 cells... with a 12x6 prop
a 4 cell 2170, 2070 or similar and a 12x6 prop is a FUN setup for the Yak!
and you get 8 or 9 minutes of flight
