Default Heatwave

I saw it on display in Toledo. Not a bad looking airplane but would look a lot better with some sort of decent looking canopy.

It never occured to me then but it would probably be a very easy conversion to a pusher prop airplane. Ducted fan would certainly be possible but to me seems like way too much trouble. I'm just guessing the weight of a 17lb thrust class turbine and something like a big Moki engine is roughly the same. It would have to be fairly easy to mount a big glow or even gas engine where the turbine would go.

I think the best feature of the airplane is the huge wing and what appears to be simple construction. Kind of like a turbine version of a Kaos. It would have to be a great flying airplane and the large size and big wing would tend to keep the speed down compared to some of the other so-called trainers which are in reality very fast airplanes.

If I was starting over in jets I would give serious consideration to the Heatwave. Even now I think it would be a great sport model especially for some of the tight flying fields we are forced to use here in the Northeast.
