Default RE: Getting Back into R/C (Electric mostly, but also nitro)

hey traxxaspede, thanks for the reply. I didn't think anyone was going to reply to my thread!

I was looking on the Novak site for those mentioned systems and there was no mention about LiPo being used on those systems, so I figured I would turn to this community. It mentioned NiMH, but not LiPo (unless I was not reading carefully).

http://www.maxamps.com/VXLRTRKIT-6500-74.htm <- I looked on this site and saw this product from MaxAmps.com. The price for the "Brushless RTR Kit" was excellent and affordable given what they are offering with the kit. But I again, I have been out of the hobby for a good long time and I really do not know what products are good or decent. I do not remember MaxAmps.com products in my hobby shop days, but from what I read and referencing easyrc.com (thanks to one of the threads mentioning this link), the battery is superb and 7.4v! But the charger looks difficult to operate. Also, I do not remember hyperion tabs being used. I know Deans and the bullet tabs were widely used when I used to setup electric systems for the flyers at the hobby shop. Is Hyperion the new standard? Are Deans or Bullet tabs used anymore?

Again, I sincerely apologize for asking so many questions, but I am really ecstatic to come back to the hobby again. I noticed the hobby shop I used to work at closed shop. It was disheartening to not even be able to say goodbye. I think there are a couple hobby shops nearby that I could visit, but I don't know how busy they would be on Christmas Eve (Today).

Again, please feel free to comment on any questions I have. I sincerely appreciate everyone's time.
