RE: Getting Back into R/C (Electric mostly, but also nitro)
Hey Druss, the reason why I mentioned the MaxAmps.com LiPo RTR kit was mainly for bashing. And I did take a look at what ROAR guidlelines from that easyrc.com link. I learned quite a bit. I do not thnk I will be racing any time soon as I need to get my reflexes back. I've been out for 4 years and I think I should really concentrate working on getting better at turning and handling.
The MaxAmps.com is just for bashing and fun! Plus I wanna see this 48 minutes of run-time in action. I cannot believe it as nitro cars only last a total of ten minutes on one tank full, unless you keep refueling and keep going. I am a technology junkie and I love playing with new things!!
Wel today I located another hobby store near me and I will be paying them a visit (if they are open on Xmas). But from what I heard from my neighbor (who is also another influence that got me back into R/C), they are good for ordering things but not really good at answering questions. So I guess I will ask what I can, and then bring the answers here to my questions and see what you guys think.
Oh, I also found another charger that I had stored away: it is a Great Planes Triton Charger and I still have its manual!! I still cannot locate the manual for the DuraTrax ICE charger, I will locate the manual online sometime today, for sure. Does anyone know if my Triton from 4 years ago is still good on LiPo batteries today? I used to use that charger all the time for 7.4 - 11.1 LiPo batteries for planes all the time. However I do not remember if it balanced them. I'll have to RTFM.
Also, probably after today, I will provide a list of what I plan to get, alongside my Pro 4 (since I cannot find parts for it even).
Keep the answers, suggestions and everything coming. I appreciate everything you guys can provide.
