I also recommend testing your turbine with a Flightworks pump before touching your turbine... If you still get this problem it may also be a good idea to check your tubing from the tank to pump inlet. These pumps are usually poor in suction however very powerfull in pumping... I had to change all my plumbing to 6mm Tygon before getting good results ....
