It goes together very easy - nothing very hard.
Mine came out tail heavy - needed ~5 oz to balance, but I think that was a result of my glassing and painting, not the design.
I would suggest you get a razor plane though - lots of shaping to do.
I think the only thing I would do different if I built another would be to use plug-in wings - the 68" wing is a pain to transport!!
