The wild hawk is pretty much a copy of the easy star, which is 199 bucks. I've seen other knock offs out there, too, and they're all more expensive than the wild hawk. If you're looking for a fun flyer, and if you're not looking to go too fast, then this is a great little plane. Not to mention, you get about 20 mins of flight time with the 2200mah nimh, which is great, considering I only get about 4-5 minutes of spirited flight on my lipo planes.
And, you can do many mods to the wild hawk to make it a more spirited flyer. I've added massive ailerons, and I've doubled the control surfaces. I've also fashioned some skies that I places on the wings for better snow surfing. It's just as fun on the ground. For 80 bucks, it's one of the best ways to get into RC.
I agree!
And with the ability to add ailerons, clip the wings, go brushless, etc. the plane keeps the user's interest up over time.
It's also sturdier than the often recommended SuperCubs ( Piffle! poor first time planes... ), easier to fly, easier to upgrade, cheaper, and more likely to stay in your "stable" of planes.
Good find on that one... i
The G4.5 models of that plane in all of it's interations are up on the G4.5 swap file pages too...
