RE: AMR 50 Trainer
Jack you are a wise man. I understand your frustration with inferior kits especially in the trainer and slow fly type aircraft. The other plane I am flying right now is a Sig Rascal 110. It is a ARF kit and flies great but is built really light. I returned the first kit because the wings were crushed. The second kit looked fine and I flew it for 3 months then decided to add flaps to it. When I removed the covering from the wings I found cracks all through one of the wings both in the spar webs and ribs. Basically the tension of the film was holding it together. This kit from AMR is really built. All the laser cut parts are lite ply. The landing gear, unlike the light weight gear on the Rascal, is massive. I have not built much so far but from what I have seen this plane will be rock solid.
I started building up the flaps and ailerons today. Note that the ailerons are different for the right and left wing but the flaps are the same.
