Well 2009 got of to good start. This is closer to how long is peice of string .When you let methanol evaporate and reform you risk to gain a high mount of water from the atmosphere. This extra water will make a mess of figuring out what fuel you have as now you can maybe have 105% of fluid when you measure the final results.
Assuming that you found a way to evaporate the methanol catch it with no water ingress then its simple to measure the result.Wiki links searches for Methanol, Nitromethane and lubricating oil will tell you the specific gravity of the different fluids.
(Also there exists this useful program HBBUDDY you search for it or go to post no.184
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_19..._8/key_/tm.htm
The HBBuddy program can tell you fuid onz grams specific graity whatever your fuel mix is)
So if you know your fuel you stated with was 20% oil 20% nitro methane and you find your 60% methanol is the evaporated beaker then you are probably on target.Too much more than this risks to include nitro methane Nito methane is a parrifin heavy type fluid with a high vapour temperature so dificult to ignite .probably difficult to evaporate.
But methanol is one the easiest cheapest ingredient to get hold of.Even in euroland where prices are high some $15 a gallon in the USA its often available for less than $5 a gallon .
Also lots of spark ignition engine prefer to use more easy to hold of E85 fuel which is 85% ethanol(very similar to methanol) and 15% gasoline (petrol benzine ).It could be interesting if you get the ~14% petrol out of Ethanol to make a more pure 99% Ethanol engine which might be more interesting than E85
Lots of threads on RCUNIVERSE converting spark ignition to run on glow plugs using methanol ethanol gasoline mixes
Have you a explanation diagrams and pics of your evaporation solution to see if others on the forum can comment if its working properly
