RE: AMR 50 Trainer
I've read about the odorless CA but never used it. I used to build with CA exclusively because it was so fast. I learned the hard way that fast is not always a good thing. I now use wood glue, like Great Planes Aliphatic Resin glue or Titebond II for most of the building. I still use CA for installing ribs in wing panels though. I set them all with a square and when I know all is straight and square, tack them all to the leading and trailing edges with CA. I use wood glues to install the stringers etc because it gives me more time to make adjustments etc and doesn't knock me out with ammonia odor. The first time I built with CA, I was building a SIG Kobra in 1980 something and I glued my fingers to the fin. I held it in place while the CA set and didn't realize I had some on my thumb and index finger. I had to use my xacto knife and cut myself loose. I didn't have any debonder at the time. Lesson learned. I think skin is the thing CA bonds best. Now that I'm in my 50s, I'm not in such a big hurry all the time.
