Not sure if it is any different but I have a DT gear diff in my speed t and XXXT 7700 lipo mamba and have done nothing to it ever. You can put diff fluid in it as well and it will not leak. Had 7000w fluid in mine for 4 months. Best diffs I've ever had. Yes you have to use the DT cases. Excellent piece.
