Default RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD

ORIGINAL: JS615

I got my new spinner this week from dave platt,,, and have just about completed the build on this plane,, i am kind of disappointed in this arf, i have had trouble at just about every turn. cheap wheel wells that crack, and of course the canopy, if you just look at the canopy wrong it will crack, hard plastic spinner, trying to line up the dowel holes for the front of the wing,, i am use to that being done already,, the sheeting on the wing seems to be thin and brittle, and several other things have got me turned off on CMP planes,, i dont think i will get another CMP,, I dont want to sound like a whiner, considering the low price i paid i should not cry. I have just been spoiled on higher quality arfs.
Just a short note on lining up the wing dowels,

With the plastic rings glued in place and the wing seated and lined up, I drilled two 6mm holes from the front, through the firewall all the way through the plastic rings and into the wing. This secured a good fit of the dowels.

The holes in the firewall are plugged later on.

Helge.
