first question, whats ebook? second, you have a good point"just use the free stuff on the internet" thats great, but learning it for yourself. and having it right there when you need it is very conveinent. and theres some people who like to learn more than just the basic stuff. with your logic why dont people just stop going to school and figure everything out over the internet, lol. third mine only cost me $24.00 plus $3.49 shipping. not $40.00. you say they have them at tower hobbis for that much. what a jip. i never really liked tower anyway. they dont even advertise losi products in there catolog, lol. anyway i think the books well worth it, but hey your entitiled to your opinion.
An e book is an electronic book, not one printed on paper.
If you have to have stuff in print to carry with you then print out whatever free guide you want - It's free except for any paper and ink you use. I've done that many times and it works well.
You can in fact learn most things - in depth too - over the internet. Why would you think only basic info is available? In fact you can go to school over the net. I have many friends that have taken many acredited college courses and recieved degrees and barely set foot in a classroom. Personally I prefer being in a classroom situation, I don't get as distracted and seem to get more out of the class.
Why is it funny that Tower does not sell Losi? Losi is owned by Horizon Hobby, a direct competitor to Tower. Do you also find it "lol" that Chevrolet dealerships don't sell the Mustang or F150? Also, I don't know if Tower sells the book in question or not. What I was trying to say was they sell many RC related books on many different subjects, tuning included.
You like this book, great, you've expressed your opinion. Others have said that most, if not all, of that info can be had for free and are suggesting ways for the OP to save some money. Both opinions are valid and it comes down to the OP making his own decisions based on the answers he gets.
I think what Montana Mike was trying to say is you are entitled to your opinion too but any way that you can gain knowledge is good and that knowledge is everywhere. But that's just my opinion too since I'm not MM
