Hi everybody.
I'm planning on making my KMP (or ESM as they are referred to in this part of the world) Cessna 185 a bit more scale.
The changes I've planned to do so far include:
- New windows in a green/blue tint. I allways found the brown stock ones very unscale.
- Hidden bell cranks for rudder and elevator
- Opening doors and cargo door.
- Cockpit interior.
- "Real" corrugated control surfaces.
- Light system, ldg-, nav-, beacon- and strobelight.
- Panel lines and rivets.
- New paint job
- Seacommander floats and mouning system.
This is what it looked like before. Parts of it anyway.
I've pulled out the old servo trays to make room for the interior. I will reinforce the cabin area
New wind shield
I've bought the Top Flite C-182 interior kit, and I will be able to use quite a lot of it in my C-185.
The thing is a bugger to put together though! The CA sticks to nothing but my fingers and the plastic is extremely thin!
Hopefully with the aid of tons of bondo I'll make it look half decent! Here's the rear seats coming together.
This is what I hope the thing'll look like in the end!
I've also got a new 26cc gas engine for this plane, but I won't be fitting that any time soon as I'm afraid this'll be a slow project!
This is my first attempt at something scale like, so wish me luck!
