Ball diffs are more finicky. On youtube, search losi xxx-cr and the first thing that comes up is a xxx-cr with a stock ball difff, running 4200 6 cell and novak 3.5R motor. Bascially, ball diffs are sensetive to the turn. Like 1 turn off could cause something to happen.
Im not sure about reccomending that combo, but I would say "be cautious on the throttle and loosen the slipper if you really need to."
