I built one in the mid '90s, built from plans, the only mod I did was make it a full floating tail, no elevators. It was a great thermalling glider, and would climb in the least amount of lift. with a bit of ballast (I used a bigger battery) it flew well on a breezy day, and could climb just pointed into the wind and trimmed. It was one of the gliders I really regretted selling
