So in leiu of sim, should i simply spend money on trainer or would sim still be good idea?

I'm torn between RealFlight G4.5 and Aerofly Pro Deluxe, both are in $200 range i believe.

Sim seems like good way to become familar with controls, but if veteran flyers think simply getting out there and doing it on trainer is better, then perhaps that's way to go...
