He is NOT using a "car battery" ( which incidentaly gaRCfield would put out about 13.8v or so since the car battery would see almost no load ).

While adecuate for a .40 glow engine those things are awful for anything larger... and even then the included 12v battery barely lasted me a season before it was used up.
