I have two of them, one is a very early serial number (931) unmodified one - came with original Soviet box, instructions, etc. and is the one I've run. It needed to be cleaned of swarf before running. Compression is beautiful - as good as any other diesel I've run. Its performance is similar to my CS Olly or a good PAW 249. For bench running, a Taipan 9x4 seems to be ideal.
My other one is the Australian modified variant with the muffler. (The muffler, and the glow versions were a mod by the Australian importer of the Marz - if you see either then you know you have a Marz that has been down under). I haven't run it yet.
I see no reason why the Marz wouldn't be a perfectly acceptable 2.5cc sports diesel, and for the price was good value. I haven't flown mine yet, only bench run it.
