Spektrum/JR has the largest selection of 2.4GHz receivers right now, probably because they were the first to introduce 2.4GHz aircraft radios.

The Airtronics 8ch is probably the most bang for the buck, but the down side is the lack of receiver choices.

Personally, in that price range I'd get the Spektrum DX6i. It has two less channels, but you have lots of receiver choices. But that's just my opinion.
