It is a wonderfull engine. It starts so easy. you are actually starting a 12.5 cc engine (one cylinder) with a prop suitable for a 50cc engine.
The only trouble is that above about 2000 rpm it starts to sound like a sewing machine. It is very quiet. It is so quiet that with another model in the air, it is hard to tell if the engine is running.
So my plan is to make some "megaphone exhausts". by that i mean a tapered tube on each exhaust, opening out to about 1/2"to 5/8". It just needs a little bit more noise.
The old tiger moth will fly around (won't climb) at about 2800 rpm so it will sound OK.
It cost me A$3000 but it was worth every penny.
