I tend to agree with you on the gaps since the doors are open when the engines are shut down. Who's going to see them. I saw Mig #1 taxi in with the chute blossomed out behind it and the doors closed before shut down. Pretty cool. With only 100 of these kits everyone should have no trouble doing something different.

I decided to cut the door pins flush with the nacelle and cover the opening with an access hatch made from flitemetal. There has to be some sort of an access panel so the shaft can be serviced on the full scale bird. If you need to pull a door and I doubt you will, all you need to do is pull off the inboard cover and replace the cover when your finished Did you use the outboard 5mm brass tubes as bearings for the 4mm door pivot rod like the instructions call for?
