The only way you could of melted the gears with the break on is if the cars idle was too high and it was trying to move. The heat build up could have done that. But I've never heard or seen that happen. So your saying that the car was just idleing and the gears melted?
Another thing that can strip a gear is coming off a jump to a dead stop. When you hit the ground and dont move the RPM's are still up and have no choice but to try and get the tranny to move so if you hit and stick, you can strip a gear that way. I did that yesterday on my HyperSpeed.
LIKE2RACE: If the warhead and tornado is the same then I would think the only place to find a metal gear box would be from an aftermarket company that makes parts for the Warhead. I dont think I've come accross a metal gear box made by RedCat. Maybe someone else will have a better idea on that one. Good luck.
