I think you may be making a mistake with the fins. Peter, is the fin with the fatter EW pod on the top your right-side fin? If so, there may have been a mistake - my research photos show that the F15s have the fatter pod on the left fin - see the attached. Also the dark grey centre is on the outside face of the fin and the lighter grey centre on the inner - again see the attached. On my FEJ F15C I have the colours as per the full size and the fatter EW pod is on the left hand fin. And, the cut-out for the rudder servos is thus on the inner face of the fins - so no need for me to cut a further hole to preserve the markings. Its better explained in photos I think.
