RE: New 3W 110iB2 inline
If you have a twin cylinder engine the best method of fuel induction is twin carbs. There's the rotary valve solution for some rear inducted engines but the opposed and inlines do best with dual carbs. You can't install a single carb on a pair of cylinders in most current configurations and obtain equal fuel delivery to each cylinder. The rotation of the crank is a tremendous impediment to balanced fuel charges. Balanced fuel delivery requires the use of a manifold and people are too obsessed with having the lowest weight so a manifold won't happen soon.
You have a point though. Seems a fair number of people can't correctly tune an engine with a single carb let alone two. That just might finally put gassers well over the top for more than a few.
