IMO, you, a consumer, placed your business trust in the provider while giving the provider the benefit of trusting him to be an honest gentleman, same as yourself. When any individual disregards a business trust, no matter what it may be for, and then acts dishonestly, then IMO that individual is a criminal and should be treated as such.

I, too, have been a trusting individual and have had the rug jerked from under me, resulting in significant financial loss. OTOH, somewhere there is a guider that has provided me with both the courage to remain honest and above board with my dealings, and all losses have been overridden with more than adequate results. So, stay your course regardless what advice may be sent otherwise, although I am sure the above stated examples are meant in the best of intentions.
