Hello all,
Well, as you can see I finally work up enough courage to cut my wheel pants in half. I had a friend come over and seen what I was doing (he thought I was crazy) I keep thinking a ¼” can’t make that much differents but was I wrong. I tacked them back together with thin ca and it took that fat chubby look away they look much better. (Thanks Bill) Can I just epoxy then back together or use fiberglass? I see so many new members since I last posted let me welcome all of you to the Brother Hood a great bunch of guys!!
Dan,
Great job once again. Now sand the cut edges flat, and put them together with masking tape, so that nothing can seep out, and mix up some 30 minute epoxy, or some epoxyglas resin, and brush the glue on the inside, giving the joint a good coating of the glue. When it has cured, remove the tape, and fill any gaps with body putty (not Bondo) and sand it slick. Guess what, cutting out the original seam got rid of nearly all the pin holes and voids too. This modification is nothing but a win-win deal. Glad to see you tried it.
