Glow plugs are all pretty much standard and everyone seems to have a favourite brand. The only thing you need to watch for is that the length is suitable for your engine and the heat range is also suitable. Virtually all engines, except some very small ones, use a long reach plug and although both Enya and OS plugs are slightly shorter than a standard long reach they still work fine. Heat range varies from hot through to cold and the number of heat ranges varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. Some might only have 3 (hot, medium, cold) while others can have up to 7 from hot through to cold. Usually a medium or hot plug suits most engines. So the short answer is No, you don't have to get an Evolution plug if you don't want to.
