Maybe I've given the wrong impression here. For me, the problem with the GP GB has not been at higher speeds but near the stall speed and stock landing gear issues. I'm not fond of the noseheavy flight characterisics, but that hasn't caused any major problems for me and any good pilot can compensate for that and get the GP GB to perform any aerobatic trick in the book. I don't think that gyros are necessary to fly or land the GP GB, but they might help out if you've been less than exacting about setting up the CG or elevator throw, because if you've set up the GP GB wrong, it will drop a wing very suddenly at stall.
