Default RE: New 35cc Extra 260!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is definately heavy for this plane. Most are coming in closer to 14 pounds. That being said I can remember one of my first gas planes was a Great Planes 78" Extra that weighed over 16 pounds and had less wing area. It flew just fine, but you couldn't slow it down and float in to land. It just landed a little quick than most.

A couple things you can do:

1. Get a fiberglass or CF Spinner with a lightened backplate
2. Remove the dead weight. Cut the covering on the bottom and build a tray so you can move your batteries back to the tail. You will barely notice the patch job on the covering.
3. The further back the weight is the better, attach some to the rudder.
4. If you can, move your engine in a little closer, even 1/4" helps.

I think the plane will fly ok, but I think if you do some steps to get rid of the dead weight and get it closer to 15 pounds you will be happier.
