I personaly think as far as sanity goes on buying a model airplane for $15 to $20k if the guy can aford to buy it and can lose the money if it crashes
thats fine, its the people that i see spend money they don't have and can't aford to lose that kills me.. they charge there new jet to the credit card and next thing you know they have 9 or 10k on there card and it its secound flite its batt died and now its all over the ground and for what? just to run with the big dogs.. i would love to have the extra money to buy a big highend jet but i have to stay on the porch with the little dogs. to compare a model jet with a boat or car i don't think so, try to get full coverege ins on the jet and they would prob say no, and to get a loan on one it will not stand good for its self as colateral and if it did they wouldn't let you fly it[&o] its just not the same. models are expendable you crash you lose
i had a bvm t33 with 18lbs thrust turbin, yellow f-16, jhh jets and byron, i have never flown a model worth more than the bvm t33, i would like to know however
does a 20k model fly like it cost that much? can a guy have as good a time flying a $5k model? if you got two of the same airframes and spend 20k on one and 5k on the othere could you tell it? and IMO there is that few that think they have to have the most expensive or the big'st at the field.. now don't nobody get mad its just MO. ive been around a few that think that way.
