I know some guys think their engines spool really fast just by listening to them but for accuracy you need a stop watch and monitoring the ECU to get the true picture. It may sound like it's at full throttle and have quick response but the ECU will tell the story.
Interesting. Im sure however, You should be able to tell by ear the "get out of trouble" spool time, even if it is not Max RPM. No?

Also, When you say the newer P-80's or P-70's spool faster, Do you mean the most recent ECU version? Or is it a physical issue like CC design? How can you tell? I guess that goes for all manufacturers that may claim their "newer" turbines accelerate faster.

Pete
Hey Pete, I have been in touch with the P-120 in early 2.003 and I have had now experience with the new version of P-70 and P-80 and the spool time for the new P-70 or P-80 ECU version 6 is much faster than the older P-120.

Jet Cat claims in their home page that SE turbines have some modifications in the electronics to get a faster spool time and they say that the new non SE turbines has the same electronics modifications (without combustion chamber modifications I think) of the SE version. They call (the chip inside).
