I have used them all. I have had the pinned hinges fail, I actually wore out out the old pinned hinge, granted it took about 5 years of flying it every weekend. Some of the CA hinges I have used were really stiff, the ones I just installed this weekend on my Formula 3D are pretty soft. I fold them in half both ways then glue in. To me, the pinned have less friction then CA, but CA are a lot easier to install. Plus on CA hinges, you can not glue the joint together like I have done with pinned hinges.

On a trainer, use the CA hinge, keep it simple.
