RE: BIG LAMA
Hi Peter,
I quickly learned what “blade strike” means and the stock blades didn’t last the first flight. These are Airy blades. The black and white ones… very nice. I bought three full sets along with the metal head upgrade, which will go on the first time a head piece breaks. The battery is stock and I have two spare 850’s coming from Miracle Mart.
I have been blessed with some nice windless days lately. The next four however are going to be 20 MPH and up so the BL will be grounded. It’s too big to fly comfortably in my house, even in my most spacious room. The video was shot in my back yard so I can fly there anytime. Just over the fence is the cemetery and there’s a lot of open sky! A perfect situation for me. It also helps with my astronomy hobby – no house lights back there at night. It’s the darkest spot in town.
No editing, just a small spot in the beginning where Diane tells me the camera is rolling. The rest is the entire flight. I kept it short because when she got home the battery was not fully charged, but I wanted to take advantage of what daylight was left. I think the video is just long enough. But next time I want to get it higher and cruise among the backdrop of the clouds a bit more.
So I’m back to the Dauphin indoors for now and that’s OK. I can just look at the BL and grin.
