Please HELP with electric hookup!
I'm having a real hard time here. I cannot for the life of me, hookup my electrics! Here's what I'm trying to do: Hookup a brand new Novak Atom to the motor, batt, etc etc. I soldered the blue wire from the post on the ESC, to the - on the motor. Then I soldered the red wire from the post on the ESC to the + on the battery. Then I soldered the black wire from the post on the ESC to the - on the battery. I then spliced the red wire coming from the ESC, so that I could run a + wire to the + part on the motor. Now in between the ESC and the batt, I used deans connectors.
The problem I am having, is that when I turn on my M8 radio, and then the switch for the ESC, the steering is working fine, no probs. But then when I hit the throttle, the ESC does go from the red light (brake) to the green light, but the motor makes a weird sound. It does try to go some, but just twitches. I of course charged my 3000 pack, so it's not a power problem, the steering works just fine.
Then I thought, maybe it's a problem with the ESC and or the motor. So I used a Novak Cyclone TC and another motor, wired/soldered it up the same, and still the same problems. Motor makes a slight whine noise, just a little twitch of movement when I hit the throttle....and that's it! I can't figure it out! I have used R/C cars for quite a while, but all were setup for me, I've never had to wire the electrics from scratch. I am using some very high quality equipment here, and don't want to mess it up!
Maybe if someone could just explain to me, from the basic, how to wire this up correctly, I would appreciate it! Maybe someone with one of these Novak ESC's......any questions about it, please ask, I will do my best to answer!
