Default In-Line fuel filter Vs. In-Tank fuel filter?

Hi,

My MCD MT came without fuel filter, I would like to add one but I am not sure what should I get:

In-line fuel filter or In-tank fuel filter?

If the fuel filter will be in-tank it will have less accessibility in case I will need to clean it but it will be more protected, a in-line fuel filter will have better accessibility but it might cause to more leakages around its connections & it might block a bit the fuel supply since on the line I will have both the in-line fuel filter & a weight in the tank.

Any suggestions? Recommendations?

Thanks.
