I only build in the winter. I have several arfs and like them just fine. Sometimes I get an arf and personalize it a bit just to feel I have something to do with the look. I have to admit, their is alot of pride taken in building from plans. The butt pucker factor is quite high the first few flights. But when you get her to your liking,its all worth it.
